Mid-day meals

For many children, the lunch that we provide is the only meal that they will eat all day. We give nutritious, well-balanced and filling meals to our children so that they get the nutrients they need. See a child not go hungry for even a day.

Mid day meal for 250 children - Rs. 9000 per day.

School shoes

Good quality shoes are essential if a child is to play outside or walk to our centre in the rain. But the cost of these shoes is an added expense to the underprivileged migrant parents, one that they cannot afford. At Nai Disha we replace worn out shoes regularly. Make a child hop, skip and jump by sponsoring a pair today.

Adopt a child

Sponsoring a child means supporting the child through an academic year at Nai Disha. You will be taking care of the child's complete education, stationary, school uniform and shoes, excursions, mid- day meals and refreshments, periodic health check-ups, sports and activities for one full year. It is a true joy to follow their progress as they learn and grow with us.

Sponsorship of one Open school program child- Rs. 24,000

Sponsorship of one Mainstream program child - Rs. 12,000

Snacks

We provide our children with milk, eggs or fruit in the mornings to ensure that they start their day with a full stomach. This refreshment helps us to ensure that they receive sufficient nourishment throughout the day. And on some days we add ice cream posicles. Because those come with the best medicine of them all – laughter :)

Donating stationary to Nai Disha helps us equip our children with learning tools. Pens, pencils, notebooks colour pens, chalk etc., enable the teachers and children to together explore creative and modern learning methodologies like projects and Art Education Therapy at Nai Disha. Our classrooms need many things as regular school supplies:

Sponsor a teacher

Teachers are the heart and soul of Nai Disha. They have dedicated themselves to ensure that these disadvantaged children are given the best chance possible in life. Funding a teacher’s salary is a beautiful way to salute their service, so that they continue to educate, mentor and empower the children.

Cost of sponsorship of one full time teacher- Rs. 2,40,000
Cost of sponsorship of one-part time teacher- Rs. 96,000

Providing our children with free uniforms takes out the pressure on their parents to purchase them new clothes. It also saves the children from feeling embarrassed about wearing old worn items of clothing. And in the chilling winters of Delhi the school winter uniforms also serve as additional warm layers at home.

Cost of two sets of winter uniform - Rs. 1300 per child, (Includes 2 full sleeves shirts, 2 trousers, 2 pairs of socks, 1 belt.)

Cost of sweaters - Rs. 400 per child, requirement - 250 children.

Health kits

At Nai disha we lay immense emphasis on sanitization. To introduce and encourage basic personal hygiene and oral hygiene in the lives of these kids and their families we distribute health kits. The kits include basic hygiene items such as lice shampoo, tooth brush, tooth paste, petroleum jelly and so on. Sponsoring our health kits is the easiest way to help us to maintain our children’s well being.
